Master Communication Design

Hi, I’m Leonie and studied both interior and communication design. Looking ahead, I would like to combine these two design professions. Therefore, my project looks at the interrelationship between people, space and brand, with the aim of creating brand spaces that interact, exchange and convey content.

How can brands contribute to designing sustainable living spaces that are integrated in a short time, counteract foreignness and loneliness, and at the same time respond efficiently to future changes in society? Can a place that is diverse due to constant change still be a place of home?

With a consumption of 297 million tonnes of raw materials, consumer housing represents the largest field of action in the area of environmental impact. Nevertheless there is still a housing shortage in cities, which shows that future-oriented solutions must be found in the area of urban living. Our living space affects our emotions and behaviour. Communication in space can particularly influence our decisions and actions.

“Curve” aims to promote sustainable and forward-looking action in the field of space-efficient living, taking into account different needs of society, thus breaking out of the straight course of rigid housing models. With the help of interior branding, a holistic brand experience is created that promotes the coexistence of people from diverse backgrounds and counteracts the transience of living spaces. Curve creates a place that communicates, sensitizes and makes it possible to experience.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and inspired me in my project. Thank you for giving me the freedom at MSD to explore the intersections of interior- and communication design.
