Bachelor of Arts Illustration

For my illustrations I use classical printing techniques and experimental processes. I am interested in everything (hand)printed. I then digitally process the resulting prints. Before I came to Münster to become an illustrator, I studied graphic design in Frankfurt and worked in this profession for several years.

A printmaking search for traces of the text by the Nobel Prize for Literature winner Olga Tokarczuk – sometimes concrete, sometimes abstract.

A high plateau in the mountains, the wind whistling, seven houses on the edge of the forest – this is the scenery in Olga Tokarczuk’s crime novel “Drive Your Plow over the Bones of the Dead”. Janina Duszejko, the main character, appreciates the solitude of this place. She lives in seclusion and loves English poetry, astrology and the animals. But a dead neighbour, two deer at the window and the runaway foxes of a fur farm do not give her peace. Her world is coming apart at the seams, even the bugs are going crazy … For my illustrations I followed the traces in the story: What does remain at the crime scene? What does leave an imprint? What traces do we leave behind? The result is a series of prints (monotypes, material prints, drypoints on milk carton) to the text by Olga Tokarczuk, bound into a book.
