Cob technique in furniture building - new perspective for an ancient Material

Project

A side table made of cob and wood that focusses on sustainability and the regional connection of the materials as well as their function in human living spaces.

With ‚COB‘ a piece of furniture was created, that questions the materiality of the things that surround us and opens up a perspective onto their lifecycles. Radical naturality and regionality are the startingpoints for a side table that emerged from its surrounding landscape and may one day dissolve into it again.
The variations of the same typus mirror the different regions COB can be sourced from, they show diverse colors of clay and the typical wood an area is known for.
Apart from the ecological values, the raw earth offers immediate benefits to our living spaces, by regulating humidity levels and absorbing toxins from the air.

I want to thank my social environment that is full of talented, professional and good people
