Table 3 is a journal/newspaper that celebrates the act of sharing a meal. Ten illustrated stories, told by people from different cultural and geographical backgrounds. Share memories from the kitchen table and the joy of eating together.

I find great joy in eating with friends, family and sometimes even strangers. Since ancient times, sharing stories, laughter and advice over a delicious meal was a way of communicating love, comfort and acceptance. Cooking for the people you admire does not only mean nourishing them, it is also a tool for introducing your culture and heritage to others and creating bridges where there were barriers. Naturally, sharing stories about these meals holds some of the same value. By talking about our relationship with food and the memories we were able to create while sharing a meal, we are also sharing a part of ourselves, of where we come from and how we choose to live life. Therefore, this illustrated journal tries to do the same. Table 3 is a collection of illustrated stories about food traditions, important meals and favorite memories from the kitchen.

First and foremost, I am most indebted to all the people who told me their stories; this project would be nothing without you! Thank you Maja for always keeping me company, Leyla for the countless meals and Nadine for always being there, especially if I need someone to eat with. And above all, my greatest thanks are to my infinitely supportive parents; you showed me what good food is.
